What is EMV?
EMV is microchip card technology for debit, credit and prepaid cards. It stands for Europay, Mastercard and Visa.
Please join us along with Range Bank and the Michigan Retailers Association for a lunch and learn going over the technology and the liability shift that is happening in October of this year. It is important that retailers accepting credit cards understand this shift since banks have taken the liability for fraud in the past and this could possibly shift to the retailer if they are not EMV compliant. Many retailers have not heard of the new chip technology and the need to be compliant in order to protect their business.
